Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:31-34
Dear Beloved
I greet you in the lovely Name of Jesus and trust as you read my letter that it finds you in good health and that all is well with your soul.
Oh my, aren’t we living in a busy world? People are living with so many challenges and have to deal with so many things every day of their lives. Come to think about it, there is no one, not even one who is spared and who can say: “I have no challenges.”
With no surprise, here’s a list of the top 10 worldwide challenges people face daily in their homes, society or workplace, from cars to credit cards and many more.
- Sales and repairs of new and used autos.
- Home repairs and renovations.
- Consumer debt and credit
- Retail purchase issues.
- Landlord-Tenant issues.
- Fraud and Scams.
- Healthcare and wellness.
- Home furnishings and appliances.
- Utility providers and last but not least,
- Traveling and moving.
Friends do these challenges and trouble areas people have sound familiar? Think about this for a moment. Have you noticed how many times in a day we either complain or have conversations about some of the above topics? In a recent survey, they found that the average person complains three times a day and less than half of us think we could go through a whole day without one complaint. It shows that no matter who you are and what we believe, challenges are real and we’ve become expert complainers. As the year speeds to the end and no one is slacking off, how on earth are we to cope with everything we face every day and still finish strong and be part of something greater which God is preparing for His church?
It may sound like a cliche, but if there is one person who knows what life can throw at you in one day, it is Jesus. His advice to all of us is still the same today.
Matthew 6:31-34 “Don’t ever worry and say, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’
Everyone is concerned about these things, and our Heavenly Father certainly knows we need all of them. But first, be concerned about His kingdom and what has His approval. Then all these things will be provided for us. “So don’t ever worry about tomorrow. After all, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Friends, did you see what Jesus said? Everyone is concerned about things and about tomorrow. At the same time, God is saying that He knows we need things. Don’t ever worry!!! Focus on the Kingdom!!! This is what He’s saying. Change your focus and in doing so, all these things will be added. After all, tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day, listen carefully, each day has enough of its own trouble.
Friends, again I realise we can get so caught up in things and in our challenges and we can become so easily tired at this time of the year. We then find ourselves constantly focusing on our challenging “stuff” and in the process forget about focusing on God’s kingdom.
May I encourage you today. Do not lose focus of the Kingdom. Yes, every day has its own troubles and no one is spared. However, God is saying to you and me today, “As you keep on seeking My Kingdom, I will take care of you, no matter what.” Have we not made a declaration in CFC that no matter what our circumstances might be, no matter how hard our struggles might be, we will still praise the LORD anyway. I will not be a Complainer, I will be a Praiser.
If we can keep on praising God and if we keep on trusting Him, knowing that He knows what we need, God will take care of our tomorrow and we will have so much more to talk about instead of the challenges everyone faces.
Psalm 34:1-4 “I will thank the LORD at all times. My mouth will always praise him. My soul will boast about the LORD. Those who are oppressed will hear it and rejoice. Praise the LORD’S greatness with me. Let us highly honour His name together. I went to the LORD for help. He answered me and rescued me from all my fears.”
We love you dearly
